Los Angeles Rams head coach took to the FOX NFL pregame shows this morning and reminded us why he should be considered a near lock for Coach Of The Year honors.

It isn’t complicated to believe Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay should or could be the NFL Coach Of The Year. If you had any doubt, watching him this morning on both FOX NFL pregame shows immediately erased that.

He’s absolutely that good, and this morning was a reminder of just how good.

In McVay, the Rams can trust trust that this won’t likely be a one hit wonder. And it’s not just because he’s NFL football smart, it’s because he gets the generational shift of how today’s pro football player is evolving.

Hey listen, I’m an old guy. Not quite the “get off my lawn,” old guy, but old enough to remember that to this day, John Madden is still my guy.

McVay gets not just the nuance of football at the professional level in 2017, but that of the players he coaches day to day. He understands the subtleties that make them tick, therefore, the buy in became a commonwealth approach, and an easy sell.

Let’s not forget, the organization was a mess not so long ago. Their rookie quarterback was a bust, their star running back was on the back of a milk carton, and the head coach had been jettisoned. It was a decade of mediocrity being redefined every week they stepped on the field. They weren’t just 4-12, they were a trending down, bad 4-12.

Then, Les Snead hit the general manager lottery.

McVay has since unlocked the riddle that was Todd Gurley, and guided Jared Goff out of the woods. He’s rejuvenated a franchise from its long doldrums and has them poised for perhaps a winning record AND maybe the playoffs.

Even an NFC West title is on the table.

This simply doesn’t happen without the 31 year old head coach at the controls in Los Angeles.

Like I said, he’s that good.

Even this old guy gets that.
