Week 12 has the Los Angeles Rams back in the Coliseum for a Week 12 game against veteran quarterback Drew Brees and NFC South leader New Orleans.

The Los Angeles Rams are back in the Coliseum for a critical Week 12 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, and after a no-show kind of event in Minnesota, LA will need a strong, bounce-back kind of game to validate a 7-3 record that has the franchise in the postseason discussion.

It won’t be easy.

New Orleans has become a hot team and a hot topic when talk turns to Super Bowl contenders.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees is showing signs that he’s not quite ready to go “into that good night,” having the kind of season that makes him a threat akin to the championship season of 2009 when they beat the Colts.

For Los Angeles, Week 12 needs to show they are for real, and better than a team who can only beat up on the lower division.

If the Rams can show they can beat a playoff contender like New Orleans, they’ll also show they too are a contender. A loss will only validate they aren’t quite ready to take the next step, regardless what a 7-3 record might say.

Los Angeles needs a win, not just a good showing.
