Book this: If the Los Angeles Rams lose to the New Orleans Saints, they won’t make the playoffs in 2017.

LA would still have to travel to Arizona next week, host the best team in not just the NFC, but maybe the best team in the NFL when Philadelphia and Carson Wentz come to the Coliseum, and then go to Seattle.

All before Tennessee on Christmas Eve.

Is it possible the Rams could see a five game losing skid to effectively run their season aground?

That’s likely a bridge too far, but if anyone thinks Los Angeles can sustain two loses in a row to two playoff contenders and still believe they too are a playoff team, you’ve already been into to holiday eggnog.

A win in Week 12 shows that the Rams can bounce back, beat maybe the second best team in the NFC, beat Drew Brees, and validate what this 2017 season has appeared to be in Los Angeles.

It won’t be easy.

So, who is this Los Angeles Rams team?

Are they a bonafide playoff team? Is Goff or Gurley a legitimate MVP candidate? Is McVay still “all that?”

Week 12 will say a lot.

It may also return a verdict on just how far the Rams ultimately go this season.
