Looks like the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles won’t be flexed for Sunday Night Football in Week 14.

A few weeks ago, there seemed to be some excitement surrounding the thought of the Week 14 meeting between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles getting flexed into the Sunday night spot on NBC. While the Rams currently lead the NFC West by a full game over the Seattle Seahawks at the moment, the Eagles are flying high with the best record at 10-1, meaning this game could end up having a huge impact in the NFC playoff picture.

All things considered, there’s no question this meeting between Los Angeles and Philadelphia has the potential to be the most exciting game for Week 14. As for the whole possibility of the game getting moved to night, well let’s just say after plenty of discussion, the game will remain on Fox instead of switching to NBC.

In a way, it’s a shame to see the Rams miss out on an opportunity to play in a primetime game when looking at how much this team has accomplished in such a short period of time during their first year playing with Sean McVay as head coach. For a team that many expected to be at least another year or two away from being serious contenders, Los Angeles has worked their way to being a legitimate playoff contender in the NFC, and depending on how the final weeks turn out, this meeting with Philadelphia could very well end up being an early postseason preview.

Keeping the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in primetime is a fair move with John Harbaugh‘s squad working their way back into the playoff picture along with the intensity surrounding this rivalry over the years, but it’s still disappointing for Rams fans. If anything, the decision to deny the Rams from playing in a primetime game will hopefully motivate McVay’s team to come out firing against the Eagles to prove they do in fact deserve consideration for being one of the top teams in the NFL. Plus, with a meeting against Seattle the following week, this may end up being a game with Philadelphia that Los Angeles can’t afford to lose.
