3. Donald’s monster day
Back in the preseason when Aaron Donald was holding out for a new deal to make him one of the league’s highest paid defensive players, Rams fans were concerned over the possibility of having to play part of the 2017 season without their beloved superstar. And even though Donald would eventually end his holdout, Sunday’s performance against the Seahawks makes it clear that it’s only a matter of time before the former Pittsburgh standout receives that hefty contract he clearly deserves.
From his three sacks to four hits on Russell Wilson, Donald was an absolute nightmare for Seattle in Week 15, as the offensive line simply had zero answers for the Rams defender. For a majority of the season, the offensive line of the Seahawks has been a major concern when looking at their lack of protection for Wilson at times, and it’s safe to say Sean McVay felt confident enough in Donald along with the rest of the defensive unit taking full advantage of this on Sunday.
No matter how much opponents try, it’s nearly impossible to keep a freak of an athlete like Donald in check, and the fact that he already has tied a career high of 11 sacks despite all of the extra attention he’s received shows just how special of a player he is. As far as when that big payday will come, let’s just say Los Angeles better be ready to open up that checkbook.
