When looking at all of the concerns heading into the 2017 season, nobody is doubting Jared Goff’s ability anymore to lead the Los Angeles Rams.
After failing to win a single game in seven starts as a rookie in 2016, there were plenty of questions surrounding Jared Goff heading into his second NFL season, and whether he was the right answer for the Los Angeles Rams at quarterback. Frustrating doesn’t even begin to describe how Rams fans were feeling at times when considering the organization had surrendered a future first-round pick to land the former California star, but also Goff deserved some benefit of the doubt when looking at what the Rams provided him to work with on offense.
From a poor offensive line to having one of the league’s weakest receiving corps, it’s easy to understand why Goff was unable to win a single one of his seven starts as a rookie. But thanks to bringing on an offensive mastermind in Sean McVay as head coach along with numerous key additions in the offseason such as Andrew Whitworth and Robert Woods, this year showed that Goff does in fact have what it takes to the quarterback the Rams have desperately been searching for all these years.
In fact, there was a time early on in the season when Goff found his way into the MVP conversation, and rightfully so when looking at some of the numbers he was putting up in games. And while it looks like his teammate in Todd Gurley has become one of the favorites to take home the honors now, at least Goff still has plenty to be proud of from this season, including a franchise record of his own.
As the tweet mentions, the only chance Goff wouldn’t end up with the record is if something crazy were to happen in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers, but there’s no reason for Rams to worry since that seems highly unlikely to happen. Instead, Los Angeles should just enjoy the fact that Goff came around big in his sophomore season, as nobody ever could have imagined the team would be in this position after all of the struggles from last year.

Only time will tell when it comes to how deep of a run the Rams can make in the postseason, but at least with Goff running the show on offense, McVay’s team has every reason in the world to feel confident. Clearly, Goff is a special individual, and the scary thing for the rest of the NFL is this is only his second season, meaning the best has most likely yet to come.
