Here are three reasons why Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley earning a spot in the top 10 on the NFL Top 100 for 2018 is special.

With the completion of the NFL Top 100 for the 2018 season officially in the books, there’s been some debate this week over whether Los Angeles Rams stars Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald deserved to be higher on the list. Coming in at No. 6 (Gurley) and No. 7 (Donald) is obviously impressive, but when looking at some of the other players ahead them on the list, this was still quite surprising for Rams fans.

While Donald was expected to be on the list once again since he’s been one of the league’s top defenders for years, 2018 actually marked the first time Gurley received the honors after finishing second in the MVP voting last season to Tom Brady. By recording 2,093 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 19 total touchdowns, Gurley made quite the name for himself as a top running back in the league, and helped plenty of fantasy football owners take home their league title when seeing some of his stellar performances towards the end of the year.

Normally, a list like this may not seem like the biggest deal in the world for some players since it’s basically opinion, but Gurley is one of those rare cases in which landing as high as he did should still be considered special. So in honor of the Los Angeles running back coming in at No. 6 on the NFL Top 100, here are three reasons why this is meaningful for Gurley heading into his fourth season in the league.
