Colleen Wolfe from the NFL Network recently made her case over why Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams deserves a 99 rating in Madden 19.

This time of the year can be tough for football fans since they can smell the start of training camp towards the end of next month, and when it comes to the Los Angeles Rams, this team finally has plenty of reasons for excitement.

Around this time last year, the Rams were adjusting to a new system led by first-year head coach Sean McVay, and early assumptions were that it would take at least a season or two before the players to get used to everything, which was far from the case.

Instead, Los Angeles immediately bought into what McVay was selling, and this was one of many reasons as to why they were able to win the NFC West title over the Seattle Seahawks. Numerous players like Jared Goff benefitted from this amazing system on offense of McVay’s, but the argument can be made that no player elevated his game more than Todd Gurley when seeing the numbers he put together in 2017.

For a player that had been coming off a horrendous sophomore campaign in which he failed to record a single 100-yard rushing game, it was amazing to see Gurley finish second in the MVP voting in 2017 behind Tom Brady.

By recording 2,093 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 19 total touchdowns, it’s easy to make the case that Gurley benefitted the most from McVay taking over as head coach, but unfortunately this wasn’t enough to earn him a top rating in Madden 19.

This week, one of the biggest stories in Los Angeles surrounding the popular video game was how Aaron Donald happened to join the 99 rating club along with six other players for the upcoming season. However, Colleen Wolfe from the NFL Network has a different opinion when it comes to Gurley’s rating, and she certainly made a strong case on Good Morning Football, as seen below.

At the moment, Gurley has a 91 rating with three running backs listed ahead of him (highest being Le’Veon Bell at 96), but Wolfe makes some excellent points over why the Rams running back deserves to be higher.

Without Gurley, there’s no way Los Angeles would have dominated opponents the way they did on offense, and he’s a big reason behind the team’s high expectations for 2018 as a serious Super Bowl contender.

If all goes well for the Rams this upcoming season, chances are Gurley will see his name in the MVP conversation once again. And if that does in fact happen to be the case, it will only make Wolfe’s case about Gurley deserving a 99 rating even stronger.
