Despite mostly being used for special teams, Pharoh Cooper has his eyes set on making more of an impact for the Los Angeles Rams as a receiver as well in 2018.
While there were plenty of players behind the success of the Los Angeles Rams overtaking the Seattle Seahawks to win the NFC West, one of the players that kind of snuck under the radar was Pharoh Cooper on special teams.
In just his second season, the former South Carolina star led the league by averaging 27.4 yards per kick return, which even landed Cooper a trip to the Pro Bowl for the first time.
Over the years, special teams has always been a major strength of Los Angeles since John Fassel is considered one of the best coaches in the business, and seeing Cooper quickly develop into the kind of threat that he is as a returner is truly amazing.

With that being said, Cooper recently discussed with the team site how he would love to make more of an impact for the Rams in the receiving game, which Sean McVay and Jared Goff would obviously love.
Even though Los Angeles is in great shape with a trio of receivers consisting of Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp, but there’s always room for more production in this high-powered offense for someone like Cooper.
Plus, with Tavon Austin no longer in the picture, the No. 4 and No. 5 spot at receiver seems to be pretty wide open at the moment for the Rams, meaning someone like Cooper could take advantage of the opportunity.
For a player that was already considered a dangerous threat when looking at the impact he made on special teams, Cooper deserves plenty of credit for having the necessary drive to try taking his game to a whole new level.
Even if he doesn’t see as many passes thrown in his direction at first since Goff did an amazing job last season at spreading the football around, Cooper should have little trouble topping the 25 catches he’s recorded over the last two seasons in Los Angeles.

Only time will tell when it comes to whether Cooper ups his game by making an impact at receiver along with special teams, but at least with McVay running the show, the Rams have every reason to be excited over the possibility.
