Thanks to last year’s surprise success, the Los Angeles Rams are one of the early favorites to make a run at the playoffs in the NFC during the 2018 NFL season.
This summer is a completely different feeling for the Los Angeles Rams when compared to previous years since this team will enter the 2018 NFL season as one of the early favorites to make a run in the NFC.
Originally, the plan for the Rams seemed like it would be one or two years of rebuilding under Sean McVay since the players would need some time to adjust to his new system. But thanks to the players quickly buying in to what McVay was selling, Los Angeles was able to overtake the Seattle Seahawks to win the NFC West title.
Now, the expectations surrounding the Rams are higher than ever since many believed they were capable of making a serious run this past season before falling to the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

In fact, the argument can be made that Los Angeles saw their expectations hit a whole new level when they made numerous key additions this offseason that included the signing of Ndamukong Suh along with the acquisition of Brandin Cooks.
On paper, there’s every reason in the world to believe the Rams will have little trouble with earning a trip to the playoffs for a second year in a row, but also that’s always easier said than done since there are no guarantees when it comes to the NFL.
Then again, when seeing a recent release of odds for NFL teams to make the playoffs during the 2018 season, Los Angeles (-170) has to love their chances.
Anything short of making the playoffs would be a complete failure for a team like the Rams since the talent is just too good for them not to be considered one of the early favorites to win the Super Bowl.
Yes, the odds to make the playoffs certainly work to their favor, but also as previously mentioned, there are no guarantees when it comes to professional sports.

At least with McVay calling the shots, the Rams have to feel confident about their odds to make the playoffs with hopefully better results than last January in which they were eliminated right away.
