Sean McVay and the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Rams recently came in second on a ranking by Bleacher Report.
Last summer, some football fans were trying to wrap their heads around the fact that the Los Angeles Rams were willing to take the risk on Sean McVay as the youngest head coach in NFL history.
When looking at some of the other candidates that were available at the time, some of those fans wanted to make the debate about how the Rams would be better off with someone else.
As everyone knows, nobody is questioning the decision by Los Angeles anymore when looking at the quick impact he made right away during his first season after the team finished 11-5 while winning the NFC West.

Now, expectations are the highest they’ve been in a long time for the Rams, as many believe this team deserves heavy consideration for being a strong Super Bowl contender in the NFC. Los Angeles was already viewed as an early favorite heading into the offseason, but key additions of players like Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks helped take those expectations to a whole new level.
Only time will tell when it comes to seeing whether the Rams have what it takes to live up to the high expectations, but at least it’s nice to see the team earning respect across the league for a change, especially with McVay and the coaching staff.
Recently, the folks at Bleacher Report decided to put together consisting of rankings for the top head coaching staffs across the league, and seeing Los Angeles come in at No. 2 shows just how far this team has come in a span of a year.
Originally, the Rams seemed like they would go through a year or two of rebuilding while adjusting to McVay’s new system when looking at the mess he inherited, but thanks to the coaching staff figuring out a way to get the best from players, that was far from the case.
As the article mentions, the loss of Matt LaFleur (Tennessee Titans) may have seemed like a crushing blow for Los Angeles at first, but between McVay being the play-caller along with having one of the league’s top defensive mindsets in Wade Phillips, the Rams will be just fine.

If anything, seeing this amazing coaching staff find this much success right away takes the excitement to a whole new level for the Rams heading into 2018. Catching the New England Patriots in the top shot may seem like a challenge since there’s a reason why Bill Belichick has five Super Bowls to his name, but McVay and Los Angeles love a good challenge.
