It looks like Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has been feeling a little extra motivation since LeBron James decided to come to town.

One of the coolest things about professional sports is seeing cities with multiple teams show support for another, as the Los Angeles Rams have done for the Los Angeles Lakers on numerous occasions.

For example, the Rams were taking part in a little recruiting method of their own on Twitter for fun by trying to pitch LeBron James to join the Lakers, which coincidentally ended up happening.

Right away, Los Angeles fans that most likely root for both teams were beyond thrilled to hear the news surrounding James coming to California since there’s a reason why he will go down as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

Even better, now that he’s officially part of the Lakers, there’s a good chance that James will be attending a few Rams game throughout the 2018 season when it fits his schedule. Between the Rams and the Lakers, the city of Los Angeles is going to be in for a fun year of sports since expectations surrounding both teams are at an extremely high level, especially for Sean McVay‘s squad.

Talent wise, McVay has one of the best teams in the entire team to work with heading into the 2018 season, and if all goes according to plan, Todd Gurley will be in for another MVP kind of season like last year.

After failing to record a single 100-yard rushing game in 2016, Gurley was one of the players that benefitted the most from playing in McVay’s offense after recording 2,093 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 19 touchdowns.

Whether the Rams have what it takes to make a deep run in the playoffs will come down to guys like Gurley carrying their weight, but at least the former Georgia has been putting in the necessary work this offseason to give the team a better chance of making it happen.

In fact, Gurley recently discussed at a youth football camp how James coming to play in Los Angeles has provided a little extra motivation, which is exactly what fans want to hear. When seeing the high level James has been playing on throughout his career, there’s nothing Gurley would love more than to do the same in the NFL.

Reaching an athletic level like James certainly won’t be easy since the basketball superstar is one of a kind, but that’s not going to prevent Gurley from still putting in the work to at least try. Similar to James, Gurley is now at a level where Rams fans expect nothing but greatness from the running back, so let’s hope the extra motivation pays off in a big way.
