3 reactions to Los Angeles Rams bringing C.J. Anderson on board

2. Gurley’s knee seems concerning
Rams fans were holding their breath during Sunday’s contest against the Eagles when it was reported that Gurley was questionable to return due to a knee injury. And while it was a relief to see last year’s MVP runner up return to action towards the end of the third quarter, Gurley isn’t exactly out of the woods just yet.
Since Gurley is day-to-day with knee inflammation, the Rams fully understand just how careful they need to be when it comes to their beloved running back over the next week or so.
The last thing Los Angeles can afford to see happen is Gurley being unable to go come January when it matters the most in January as a result of this knee injury, meaning they need to be prepared just in case.
For obvious reasons, Anderson is nowhere near the same level as Gurley since the Rams star is one of the league’s top running backs for a reason. But at least if needed, Anderson is capable of filling in for Gurley if the knee continues to be an issue during these final two weeks.
Nothing against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, but Los Angeles could be in a favorable position in which they could afford to rest Gurley before the playoffs.
Of course, knowing Gurley, if he’s feeling good enough to go, chances are he’s not going to let that even become an option, although the Rams still know they will be cautious over the situation.
