3. McVay’s quick success

As mentioned before, the Rams were expected to go through at least a year or two of rebuilding after hiring McVay when looking at the mess he inherited from Fisher, especially on offense.

The good news for Los Angeles was after ranking at the bottom of the league in 2016 when it came to offense, the unit could only go up from there, which they actually did the following season while making history in the process.

By becoming the first team in NFL history to go from worst to first in scoring, it became clear early on just how special of a head coach McVay truly is. And when seeing how quickly McVay has been able to make this Rams team a serious contender in the NFC after only two seasons, this seems like only the beginning of great success for years to come.

Even if Los Angeles will face heavy pressure heading into each season to live up to expectations of being a top contender in the conference, McVay doesn’t seem like he will be phased by it.

If anything, McVay probably expected this early success all along once the Rams brought him on board, even when looking at the difficult obstacles he was facing.
