3 reasons Rams already looking into extension for Sean McVay makes sense

1. Gurley, Cooks already locked in for long run

While it’s only a matter of time before the Rams reward Jared Goff with a new contract, the Rams took the best approach possible this past offseason by locking up key players like Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks for the long run.

If there’s been anything to take away from Los Angeles over the last two years, one of the things that would stand out the most would be how much of an offensive mastermind McVay is as head coach.

Without question, Los Angeles as an organization deserves a ton of credit for building an amazing offense around McVay to make his job a little easier, and the fact that most of his playmakers will be around for years to give this team even more potential on offense.

No Rams fan wants to even think about what this offense would be like if McVay wasn’t part of the picture, and while the chances of him ending up elsewhere down the road seem highly unlikely, there are no guarantees in the NFL.

McVay has already shown signs of wanting to spend his head coaching career in Los Angeles, but no matter what, the Rams need to make sure he’s as happy as possible, so here’s to hoping that contract extension does in fact get taken care of.
