2. Goff, McVay could be next Brady, Belichick

Back in 2017 when the Rams made the decision to make McVay the youngest head coach in NFL history, part of their reason behind the decision was due to his history of working with quarterbacks, mainly Kirk Cousins as offensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins.

After all of the draft picks surrendered in order to land Jared Goff in 2016, Los Angeles realized the importance of making sure they made the necessary moves to bring out the best in their new quarterback, which is where McVay came into play.

Based off McVay’s previous work with Cousins, the Rams had every reason in the world to feel confident about him being able to do the same with Goff. And after looking at Goff’s numbers from the previous two seasons, McVay’s work is already paying off in one of the best ways possible.

While these two still have a long way to go when it comes to being able to compare themselves to what Brady and Belichick have been able to accomplish, everyone has to start somewhere. In other words, a win on Sunday could be the perfect way for Goff and McVay to get the ball rolling on the comparison, even if it sounds premature.
