8. Sean Mannion

Despite being a backup for the Rams over the last four seasons, the verdict was always out there over whether Sean Mannion would actually be able to fill in if needed in the regular season when it would matter the most if something were to ever happen to Jared Goff.

Too many teams have learned the hard way over the years just how important it is to have a reliable backup quarterback when the starter goes down. And even though Mannion has put together a few decent performances in the preseason at times, Los Angeles needs to decide if they feel confident enough in re-signing him again or simply look at other options.

Remember when Sean McVay was first hired as head coach in 2017, and there were some critics who believed that Mannion should start over Goff to allow the No. 1 pick more time to get used to playing in the NFL?

Nothing against Mannion as a quarterback, but it’s kind of funny how things tend to work out in the NFL since one can only imagine where this Los Angeles team would be if it weren’t for the impressive play on Goff’s end over the last two seasons.
