Remember how horrendous the offensive line of the Rams was two years ago when McVay first came on board as head coach?

Since then, Los Angeles has put together one of the top units in the league at offensive line, which started in that 2017 offseason when McVay and company were able to convince Andrew Whitworth to come on board after all those years spent with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Convincing Whitworth to avoid retirement for at least one more year will certainly benefit the Rams on offense, but it will be interesting to see how the offensive line adjusts now that Rodger Saffold and John Sullivan are no longer around.
Even if Los Angeles feels confident in two of their draft picks from a year ago in Brian Allen and Joseph Noteboom taking on increased roles during their sophomore campaign, the Rams will still play it safe by looking to the draft as well.
The fact that Max Scharping can be used at multiple positions makes him an even more intriguing option for the Rams to consider with the athletic ability to make an impact right away as a rookie.
Scharping’s pass-protection skills may need some work, but a coach like McVay would love a project like Scharping to work with at the NFL level.
