1. Xavier Rhodes

Taking things all the way back to 2013, using a first-round pick on Xavier Rhodes was one of the best decisions the Vikings could have made when looking at the cornerback’s impact over the last seven seasons.

When looking at all of the offensive firepower across the rest of the NFC North, Minnesota is in one of those positions in which they realize the importance of having Rhodes around, but also know that it comes at a hefty price.

Time and time again, NFL teams make the difficult decision to move on from certain players to free up some salary cap space.

And when looking at the money owed to Rhodes through the 2022 season, it can’t hurt the Vikings to explore all potential options for a trade to clear some of that space up, even if Minnesota has expressed zero interest in doing so at the moment.

Since Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib are only under contract for the remainder of 2019, the Rams will soon need to make some decisions over what their future will look like at the cornerback position.

Long shot or not, Rhodes seems like a player that Los Angeles would welcome with open arms if the opportunity were there, and could even help the defense out for the long run.
