LA Rams former RB coach Skip Peete reportedly (interviewed with) HIRED BY the Dallas Cowboys for their vacant running back coach position
The LA Rams wasted no time this off-season when it came to parting ways with running back coach Skip Peete. and the Dallas Cowboys are both in the market for a new running back coach. So far, the only rumors or stories have centered around the Cowboys’ search, with a mention of the Rams as a side note. Both the Rams and the Cowboys were rumored to be in hot pursuit of the University of Texas running back coach Stan Drayton.
Now, the NFL rumors suggest that neither the Rams nor the Cowboys have successfully wooed Drayton away from the Texas Longhorns. At least, that is if you believe the latest NFL Rumors from Ian Rapoport.
If Peete is hired by the Cowboys, that will be the second LA Rams coach hired on by the Dallas Cowboys and new head coach Mike McCarthy this off-season.

Earlier in the month, the Cowboys poached special teams coordinator John Fassel from the LA Rams to fill their own special teams coordinator position. Fassel’s contract had expired with the Rams, but many expected the Rams would re-sign him to a multi-year extension.
The news also reveals more information about the Rams search for a running back coach. We had compiled a list of solid candidates for running back coach earlier. From that list, Freddie Kitchens has since been hired on elsewhere. The Rams did not hesitate to hire on new offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell and defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. Now the team has three coaches who young, innovative, and philosophically aligned. Has that now become the new standard for all coaches considered to become part of the Rams coaching staff?
The absence of progress on the Rams hiring of a new running back coach may indicate that newly hired offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell is weighing in on the candidates and decision. But the delay in filling out the coaching staff places the Rams into the unenviable of hiring from among those candidates from the “whoever is left” pool. While there may be an ideal candidate remaining, fans would love to hear that hire has taken place sooner than later.
Just as this article was published, reports are confirming Peete hiring by Cowboys
This makes the second hiring by Cowboys Coach McCarthy of a former Rams coach. Does Dallas have a recruiting office in Los Angeles?
