By Larry Brake
Pay close attention to Jeff Okudah
Jeff Okudah is the top-ranked corner in the 2020 draft class. LA should make every effort to select this elite corner. Okudah could be the next elite shutdown NFL corner.

He played collegiately for the Big-Ten Ohio State Buckeyes. Okudah made 83 total tackles. Last season, he intercepted three passes. He declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season.
Okudah has definitely impressed the scouts and NFL analyst media members. Lance Zierlein of nfl.com gives him a very high grade of 7.15 out of a possible 8. Okudah’s score projects him as having Pro Bowl talent.
Once again, why wouldn’t the Rams do whatever is necessary to draft him? Remember, he will have a less expensive contract than what Ramsey will demand. LA would have him for the next five seasons.
Okudah stands 6-feet-1 weighing 200 pounds. He passes the size and weight test. Zierlein gives his analysis of Okudah’s talent:
"Head coach and general manager’s dream prospect with blue-chip physical traits, mental makeup and personal character. … He has a rigid adherence to technique, but squeezing coverage even tighter and trusting his traits, talent and recovery speed could make him one of the top shutdown corners in the game."
As with other defensive backs, he will participate at the NFL Scouting Combine as a member of Group 4, which arrives Wednesday, February 26th.
While watching the Combine, pay particularly close attention to Okudah. Hopefully the Rams can make the move to get him. Let’s see how it plays out.
