3 reasons why LA Rams should sign LB Nigel Bradham to short-term deal

Reason II – Nigel Bradham would rejuvenate his career playing for Rams new DC Brandon Staley
The LA Rams need players for the new coordinators. The new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley is particularly in need of help on defense, as his unit will be particularly hard hit with attrition associated with free agency.
Much of the Rams’ effectiveness on defense in 2020 hinges upon their ability to disguise what they plan to do. To ensure deception, offenses must perceive a threat that is not truly there. In short, the Rams must have plenty of versatility in their personnel to make the opponent believe the mirage of appearances is what the quarterback should key on. With Nigel Bradham in the middle of the Rams’ defense, he can be solid in pass coverage, as a Blitzer, or as a run stopper.
That gives the Rams a distinct advantage, one with DC Staley will be happy to leverage often to confuse offenses.
For Bradham, the opportunity to play in the shadow of All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald is not an easy chance to pass up. Donald gobbles up blockers, attracting two or three blockers routinely. That gives a veteran linebacker like Bradham a clear path to the ball carrier, the quarterback, or the back slipping out of the backfield as a receiver. That opportunity will show up huge in Bradham’s statistics. For a one or two year deal, it would be a wise move to sign on with the Rams, pad statistics, and then sign elsewhere for a lucrative contract.
