So what about SoFi Stadium?

The California Governor’s office ordered a “Stay-at-home” yesterday, which according to the order restricts construction to public works – such as public housing projects.  We reported that the order would likely halt progress on the SoFi Sports Complex construction.

Even if the impact of the Governor’s order does not stop construction, the impact could be a delay in the timetable.  The first part of the sports complex scheduled to host events was the arena, where concerts have already been booked for this summer.

The overall project is such that one part of the complex does not necessarily impact the timetable of the other elements of the development.  Ultimately, the $5 billion sports complex will be home to the stadium, an arena, retail shops, restaurants, hotels, and more.

The latest information indicated that the Governor’s office would be considering new language to allow SoFi construction to continue.  Meanwhile, Fred Roggin indicated that the team will meet with local government officials today, March 20, 2020, to determine what can and cannot be done. As soon as the matter is clarified, we will update you.
