LA Rams last 2020 NFL Draft – 2020 Mock Draft 5.0

Round 6 – Offensive tackle
With the 202nd pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the LA Rams select offensive tackle Trey Adams, from the University of Washington.
For every draft board or mock draft I’ve seen, Adams is the one player who can pop up in round one, all the way to undrafted – priority free agent. No NFL teams know what to make of his medical information. Has his knee healed? Will back injuries plague him throughout his NFL career? These issues will scare off NFL general managers this year when solid information is almost impossible to come by.
Adams has been on the Rams radar for several years. They have drafted players from Washington who have practiced against him, in the form of Greg Gaines and Taylor Rapp. So what will his former teammates share as insider information? Well, exactly what I’ve been saying. 6-foot-8 318-pound Trey Adams is a mean, tough, powerful offensive tackle who will be a perfect understudy to take over for left tackle Andrew Whitworth.
Adams is the collegiate prospect who was lauded as a freshman, but who has yet to get “hungry” again since his injury in 2017. He enters the NFL with great size and football knowledge, but a bit of a casual nature to the craft which, when coupled with injury history, will drop him to the Rams in round 6. Coach Aaron Kromer will recognize the clay Adams is made of and will sculpt him into a true blindside tackle. That will take time, so he will get a chance to learn from “Big Whit” for the 2020 NFL season.
