LA Rams 2020 NFL Draft harvests talented treasure trove – Mock Draft 6.0

Round 7 Pick 234
Despite the LA Rams selecting an offensive tackle in round six, the medical trend of Adams leaves room for doubt as to how good he can be at the pro level. So it makes complete sense to double down at the position with offensive tackle Calvin Throckmorton out of Oregon.
Late in the NFL Draft, teams look for several things. First of all, the team looks to fill holes in the roster. Next, a team looks to bring a developmental player onto the roster. And thirdly, an NFL team looks for a player who can contribute to special teams’ play. At 6-foot-5 and 317-pounds, Throckmorton fulfills all three characteristics.
Throckmorton has shown up in mock drafts for the Rams before. No NFL team can ever truly have too many offensive tackles. Throckmorton is incredibly versatile, one of the rare offensive linemen who can truly plug and play at all five offensive line positions. While that may have hampered his collegiate portfolio, it makes incredibly valuable for the Rams at a late pick in this draft.
While the Rams risk adding one more developmental lineman to the roster, Throckmorton has a proven history of playing at multiple positions. The Rams need to find answers to that line, as quarterback Jared Goff has proven his performance requires a solid pocket from which to throw. Throckmorton is one more player who could prove to be a key in 2020, particularly if the Rams find a trading partner for LA Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein.
