Los Angeles Rams 2020 NFL Draft No Trade – Mock Draft 1.2
Round 7 pick 234: FB Bobby Holly
Looking at the film of fullbacks isn’t fun but I think I found the one best suited for the Rams. If they choose to draft one it should be Bobby Holly from Louisiana Tech. Holly is very versatile. Watching the film, you can see him lining up in the I, offset I, wingback, or directly behind the tackle and guard.
He is a 6-foot-1 252-pound fullback who moves incredibly fast for his size. He is very aggressive on his blocks, always looking for contact, giving effort on every play. He goes to the whistle is blown and seems to have an engine that keeps going. The only video of him that can be found online speaks for itself. I recommend watching the play at 2:25. That play is the best representation of who Holly is. So you can find him quickly he is on the left side of the tackle playing wingback.
Obviously, the lack of competition, for the most part, combined with the importance of fullback is why he will go this low, or undrafted, but if McVay ever wants a traditional fullback who can do it all for a heavier scheme Hart will be more than a solid late-round pick to fulfill that need.
Conclusion
The 2020 NFL Draft is one of the deepest and most complex drafts in this millennium. Deepest in that bona fide NFL starters could be found as late as round seven in certain positions. Most complex in that the 32 NFL teams face this draft but have all been blinded to a certain extent due to the cessation of team meetings, imperfect medical information available, and the technology challenges of drafting while maintaining a safe distance.
