Los Angeles Rams 2020 NFL Draft Grades
Round 7
Pick 250 – Offensive Guard Tremayne Anchrum (Clemson): Anchrum is a small 6-foot-2 tackle, that held Clemson’s right side for four years, and helped the team win the 2018 NCAA Championship while being key as well in 2019’s where they got to the big game yet again but faltered to the omnipotent LSU squad.
For many, the Rams 2019 offensive line was abysmal and should’ve addressed it earlier in the draft, where more quality players are available, but although I agree with them, this pick is rather intriguing.
Coming from a big program, where he was part of the success (and a big one) you expect the valuable players to go in the early to mid rounds, and that was not the case with Anchrum.
Anchrum will move into the inside given his not desired size and length to play tackle at the next level.
Usually, he’s got great balance but often has his upper body leaning forward, as he bets on his speed and technique to land the first hit and compensate for his lack of length. A quick move blocker that plays better in zone schemes.
Tremayne Anchrum might not compete for a starting spot early in his career, but can be counted on as a quality depth and swingman offensive line that con sub in on special packages. He should make the roster without a doubt.
The duo of Snead and McVay did it again, finding value where no one is expected to.
The Rams got a potential 7th round steal!
