5 teams looking to trade for LA Rams’ offensive linemen

LA Rams’ surplus of experienced offensive linemen could be leveraged in virtual offseason via an NFL Trade
The LA Rams have just emerged from the 2020 NFL Draft and selected just one offensive lineman, versatile offensive lineman Tremayne Anchrum, in the seventh round. The team signed just one more offensive lineman after the draft when then inked Arizona State University’s versatile offensive lineman, Cohl Cabral. With so few new faces added to a poor performing unit from 2019, can the Rams compete on offense in 2020?
Well, the LA Rams may have stumbled into a distinct advantage in 2020. As other offenses attempt to integrate new offensive linemen to the speed, regiment, and athleticism of the NFL, the Rams are letting the experience of last season buoy their off-season routine this year.
Let it ride
If you were to read the signs, the Rams were actively re-signing all offensive lineman back to the roster. That includes left tackle Andrew Whitworth, center Austin Blythe, backup center Coleman Shelton, and even blocking tight end Johnny Mundt. As poorly as the Rams OL played in 2019, they clearly had a plan in place as they re-signed everyone.
From that perspective, the message seems to suggest that the Rams front office intends to go with “as is” on the offensive line, and make use of limited draft picks to restock a defense decimated by free-agent losses so far this year. Did they anticipate the chaos of a virtual off-season program? Whether deliberate or accidental, the Rams have ended up at higher ground than other NFL teams looking to improve their OL play.
