Rams Top ten list for HBO Hard Knocks

10. The first fight to break out – There is always unbelievable pressure upon NFL football players, and to max out their competitive instincts, they can be simmering and seething. It’s an emotional boost to performance. But pressure + competition + the smallest trigger can launch a fight between teammates.

9. Josh Reynolds catching the ball – WR Josh Reynolds finally has his shot at getting many more offensive snaps. Of course, that will depend on his ability to hold onto the ball. His career catch percentage is just over 50 percent, and won’t cut it.  He will need to do better than 65 percent and would be safer at the 75 percent level. The Rams need him, but not to just run routes, to catch the ball.

8. Speed of DT Michael Hoecht – While this may not be the make or break event of training camp, I’m excited to see 6-foot-4 310-pound defensive tackle Michael Hoecht race up and down the field. His 4.6-second 40-yard dash must be seen!

7. Speed of WR Brandon Polk – Now here is the real jets. WR Brandon Polk was clocked at 4.28-seconds in the 40-yard dash. That’s the type of speed the Rams need in their return game.

6. Rams offensive line configuration – The LA Rams return nine starters from last year’s line. The problem? The final offensive line starters differ in four positions from the season-opening starters. It was that final offensive line configuration that seemed to gel. But can the Rams sit Rob Havenstein to start Bobby Evans at right tackle? This will be entertaining viewing.
