Fans should prepare to see these 7 players for the last time in a Rams uniform, whose expiring contracts project them to the 2021 NFL Free Agency market

The LA Rams are preparing to play their final regular-season game of the season. In this winner-take-all showdown, the Rams are reeling from a two-game losing streak and a Tsunami of injuries and events that have depleted their roster.  And so, despite the most unlikely of circumstances that could lead to the Rams missing the playoffs for their second consecutive season, that scenario remains alive.

The Rams can get into the playoffs with a win or a tie this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, or a Chicago Bears loss or tie with the Green Bay Packers.  But so far, any scenario that would have guaranteed a Rams’ playoff berth has been running into a huge spat of bad luck so far. That has carried the Rams to this moment, the cusp of the final game of the NFL season. As the 1970’s show ABC Wide World of Sports logo used to proclaim in the introduction: “The thrill of victory! And the agony of defeat.”

Gerrymander your weekend hopes

Wherever you draw the line for this weekend, no doubt you find yourself either with guarded optimism, or sheltered pessimism. On the down side, the Rams have flirted for three weeks at not claiming a playoff berth. In almost a scripted series of events, the LA Rams have tumbled to one of the most surprising comeback teams in the NFL, to one of the most desperate.

The Rams hopes have dimmed so much that now the team is as hopeful of a Green Bay Packers victory over the Chicago Bears to open the door to the Rams entry into the NFC wildcard berth. What a ridiculous position to be in. After a 4-1 start to the NFL season, and reaching a 9-4 record, the Rams may require the charity of another team to reach the playoffs.
