The LA Rams are the ideal 2020 NFL team to compete in the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round. Here are 3 bold claims for today’s matchup

The LA Rams have been underestimated all season, and have enjoyed the role of underdog as a result. As long as their opponents are looking past them, they have been notoriously dangerous. It’s easy to look past the Rams. The Rams are the actor who flubs his lines at least once. They are the child who cannot tie their shoelaces correctly.

Yes the Rams are an imperfect NFL team playing to perfect expectations, competing against flawless opponents. But the LA Rams are the perfect example of what it takes to win in 2020. The entire year was flawed after all.  Thanks to the health risks of a highly infections coronavirus pandemic, the entire world became flawed. No group gatherings. Social distancing. Wear a face mask. All were new introduction introduced to society to help minimize the risks.

Perseverance

Getting to the NFL Playoffs was not an easy task for the LA Rams. Even as the team finished 10-6 and claimed the sixth-seed in the NFC, the Rams faced elimination until the final scores were posted in week 17. Some think that success is easy. It’s not. It’s a constant struggle to soar higher while many forces act like gravity to prevent that from happening.

The Rams deserve to compete in the NFL Playoffs divisional round. Not because they have the number one ranked defense. But because the Rams offense, special teams, and defense worked as a team to overcome their opponent. An NFL defense can hold the opponent to no points, and yet may still result in a tie. An offense can score 100 points, but cannot stop the opponent from scoring 101. It takes a total team effort. And these Rams are not only playing to win, but are playing for one another.

Be bold and go forth

As we’ve picked apart the Rams flaws all season, from QB Jared Goff to K Sam Sloman, from KR/PR Nsimba Webster to inside linebacker Kenny Young, have we missed the big picture along the way?  The LA Rams have advanced to the top 25 percent of the NFL, and yet there are those who insist pointing out the flaws of the team.

Sometimes, its better to sit back and simply enjoy the ride. Life will throw distractions your way, but you don’t need to be distracted. Instead, maybe the Rams are onto something here. Perhaps this team doesn’t need to be perfect. In fact, the Rams do not even pretend to be. But they win games on the biggest stage, under the brightest spotlights, because the team dares to be bold enough to do so. We were a perfect four for four with last week’s four bold claims. So why not be bold for this week?
