The LA Rams are trying to get better. All these rumors of LA Rams quarterback Jared Goff’s potential exit from the Rams have made it complicated being a fan. Even when I know that Jared Goff is the problem, I still harbor hopes for the team. And yes, it’s tough to see that success without Goff on the roster. As an analogy, Jared Goff has been our first real girlfriend in 17 years. Now imagine having the search for a quarterback as though it is a search for a permanent relationship.

The first is the one when you’re not expecting much but she ends up being the best person you’ve ever met in your life (Former Rams quarterback Kurt Warner). Then things ultimately don’t work out and you find a diamond in the rough that you had a great time with for a few years ( Former Rams quarterback Marc Bulger). You then don’t find anyone until about a decade later and you’re basically looking for anything at that moment.

Desperation sets in, and you just want competence. Jared Goff is competent. He seemed to have so much potential but it was temporary. Now other people who are younger than him jump him in terms of effectiveness on the field. There’s an all-time dime that can change your life forever out there that is eyeing you (Houston Texans’ quarterback Deshaun Watson) and another older QB (Detroit Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford) that’s been waiting for a chance to be around some players of his caliber.

There are other rumors that the LA Rams are being this loud because they did Jared Goff’s agent(s) at Rep1 Sports a favor and would like a favor to be returned. That favor would be to restructure his contract to give the team some flexibility.

Contractual flexibility would go far better to make more moves to help the team make another jump and win their first Super Bowl in 20 + years. Or maybe the Rams want Goff to restructure his contract because the team realizes that he is limited in head coach Sean McVay’s offense.

This same system would do wonders with a more mobile quarterback that can make plays inside and outside of the pocket. Acquiring Deshaun Watson would make the Rams a Super Bowl contender for at least the next 10 years. Acquiring Matthew Stafford would give the team a little more wiggle room cap-wise and someone that has a ridiculous arm. Anything is better than Goff at this time.

Getting rid of Goff must be priority number one. Even if the Rams are unable to acquire a new quarterback, they still have 1-0 quarterback John Wolford on the roster. The LA Rams must trade Jared Goff, no matter what.
