The second verse, unlike the first

And then there is that rookie-turned-second-year tight end Brycen Hopkins. For the record, he did not make any impact in 2020. He played two offensive snaps the entire season and 50 special teams’ snaps. Not much to write home about for his first NFL season, is it?

Well, don’t worry about the 6-foot-4 245-pound tight-end out of the University of Purdue. This Boilermaker knows how to catch the football. He proved that with 130 receptions for 1,945 yards and 16 touchdowns in his college playing days. That was then, this is now.

So no, I won’t hype up the fact that the Rams will ‘figure out a way’ to get the ball to him.  We’ve been down this road before with head coach Sean McVay. The more things change, the more things stay the same with the LA Rams offense. It will be run the ball with running back Cam Akers, fake the run, and pass to either Cooper Kupp and/or Robert Woods. Wash, rinse, repeat.

But there is hope. You see, the LA Rams offensive plays are predictable. They fall into a pattern that defenses have figured out. And when that happens, it will now be up to quarterback Matthew Stafford to make something happen. As he scrambles, he’ll be looking for his two biggest targets: 6-foot-6 255-pound Tyler Higbee, and 6-foot-4 245-pound Brycen Hopkins.
