Inside Linebacker

The eighth prospect on this list is a familiar name, as the Rams have held at least one pre-draft virtual meeting with the linebacker out of Oklahoma State by the name of Amen Ogbongbemiga (5.90-grade per NFL.com).

Ogbongbemiga is a versatile linebacker (yes, the LA Rams love those types of players) who projects not only to compete for a starting role on the defense but will most certainly amp up the special teams’ coverage play for whatever team calls out his name on draft day. Of course, not all draft analysts even agree that he will hear his name called out.

On draft profiles where he is projected to be drafted, the emphasis is on his background as both outside and inside linebacker. Much of his NFL intrigue is anchored in his solid special teams’ play. The LA Rams shopping list includes outside linebackers, inside linebackers, and special teams coverage players. See where this is going?

He is a solid size at 6-foot-1 and 231-pounds. He has pass defense and has even added an interception to his 208 tackles, 25 tackles for a loss, and nine quarterback sacks. The pre-draft meeting is awfully encouraging, as that seems to indicate that the Rams see multiple positional value in this young man’s skill set.
