Three times’s the charm?

The LA Rams can wear this new alternate jersey up to three times this season.  And to that end, they’ve already made the decision as to when they will wear this version. The Rams will open the season in the new jersey when the team hosts the Chicago Bears on the Sunday Night Football season opener on September 12, 2021.

The Rams will redon the white jersey/sol pants combo on week nine when the team hosts the Tennessee Titans week nine, on November 7, 2021. The third and final occasion for the Rams to go white/yellow combination will be on the road on week 10 to face their rivals, the San Francisco 49er, on Monday Night Football on November 15, 2021. But when can the Rams wear the white/yellow combination in the playoffs?

Well, that likely won’t happen until 2022, if at all. The NFL rules on alternate uniforms are a bit fine-print, but the rules were relaxed in 2018 to allow a throw-back uniform’s use to expand from twice to three times in one season.   Uniform rules in the NFL, due to the licensing rights currently leased to Nike, are rather strict, as detailed in this NFL Uniform Poster.

So the new color scheme is indeed white jerseys with yellow pants. That pretty much sets up next season with an all-yellow uniform.

What are your thoughts? Do you like the new version? Or are you disappointed once more? I’m no fashion aficionado, but this version seems to be a far sight easier on the eyes than the previous new designs. Of course, the best way to make a uniform popular is to wear it and then go out and win the Super Bowl.
