Bells and whistles
Stafford’s minor injury continues a concerning pace so far. While the injuries so far have been minor, it appears as though this group is either being a bit careless or that insufficient measures have been taken to protect the players so far. McVay even admitted that he should have implemented the Guardian helmet cap currently being used by the San Francisco 49ers, and believes that technology might have avoided the injury to Stafford.
In any case, the team is clearly raving so far over some of the veteran tricks of the trade that Stafford has been showcasing for the team in practice. The no-look pass is awfully impressive and resembles the no-look assists of LA Lakers great Magic Johnson.

But that is just one of the many talents that the Rams offense has encountered with Stafford so far. Another one of his lesser publicized talents is directing traffic like a playground pick-up game, where the quarterback waves directions to the receiver for a score.
Um, just like he did to Van Jefferson.
Impressive throw during redzone period from Matthew Stafford, rolling one way before redirecting Van Jefferson with him, then finding Jefferson in endzone for toe-drag TD catch. Darious Williams in great position to make a play and appeared to deflect, but Jefferson still caught.

The LA Rams parked a lot of value to acquire Stafford from the Detroit Lions. So there has been a bit of pent-up anxiety over whether or not Stafford was worth the asking price. So far, it appears that the Rams got a bargain in the deal. Of course, that will truly depend on whether or not Stafford remains healthy this season.
