The LA Rams are finally playing against a team that didn’t play in the NFL playoffs a year ago, and will likely not be competing in post-season at the end of the 2021 NFL season. But this is no time for the team to let up.

As we are all too aware, the team struggled mightily against teams that they were heavily favored to defeat in 2020.  The opening line for their Week 6 game was 11.0 points, but that has shriveled significantly to 8.5 points, perhaps in the realization that the team’s history is not very good when heavily favored.

The odds may also reflect the news that New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones made an almost instantaneous recovery from his concussion last Sunday and will start this week. He may not have many weapons to work with, but he will get the most of whatever weapons are on the field with him.

The offense should be able to run and pass against the Giants’ defense, but only if they are prepared and physical. That means the game plan should be leaning to Tyler Higbee, Robert Woods, and Sony Michel to get the job done this week.

Rams Next Game and Schedule

The next game will be in Week 6 on Sunday, October 24th at home hosting the Detroit Lions at 1:05 pm PT. Here’s a look at their schedule for the next four weeks:

Week 7: vs Detroit (0-5)
Week 8: @ Houston (1-4)
Week 9: vs. Tennessee (3-2)
Week 10: @ San Francisco (2-3)

The team is coming off a good road win at Seattle and has the chance with a win here to remain among the best teams in the NFL so far in the early part of the season. There are no guarantees in the NFL, but the fact that I am concerned that the Rams may lose if they are not careful has me believing that the team is of the same mindset.
