The LA Rams are back to a full roster in time to close out the regular season’s final two games. That’s quite a relief, as the team somehow managed to win games without several key starters. Finally, the team has raised questions that RB Cam Akers, who had suffered an Achilles Tendon injury, may not be ready to play in this game after all.

The Baltimore Ravens are in an even more precarious position right now. Clinging to playoff hopes with an 8-7 record, they face an almost certain win-or-go-home type of game this week. That is why their team is pressing so hard to get starting quarterback Lamar Jackson ready to go this week.  That may not be the case.

The LA Rams may not face Ravens starting QB Lamar Jackson and may face backup QB, Tyler Huntley. Huntley is no slouch, having appeared in three games for the Ravens and earned a record of 1-1. He has one come-from-behind victory and nearly defeated the Green Bay Packers, falling short at the end by a score of 31-30.

Oddsmakers become ever more optimistic over the LA Rams to win this week, but you can attribute that as much to the uncertainty of either team’s roster, as the Rams got healthier. Right now, the Ravens are rather short-handed.

While the Ravens view this as a must-win game, the Rams have plenty of reasons to win as well. If the team wins and the Arizona Cardinals lose, the team earns a lock on winning the NFC West Division. With a win and the Arizona Cardinals win, the victory propels the team to the second-seeded team in the NFC with just one game remaining.

I think that the offense can and will run in this one. Once that happens, the offense will have a field day carving up the Ravens’ secondary.

I’m torn in viewing the starters competing in Week 18. While it makes all the sense in the world to sit players, rest up, and prevent injuries, I cannot shake the feeling that a win over the San Francisco 49ers would be a huge positive momentum for the team heading into the playoffs.
