Where are LA Rams paying the most money on positional groups?

Analyzing the accounting
Now, what does this all mean? Well, for starters, it illustrates that financially, the LA Rams have done a masterful job of level loading the team’s positional spending. With a few exceptions, the Rams have tried to hover on or about the midpoint of positional spending across the roster. That’s a very good strategy.
But another takeaway is considering which free agents the LA Rams will likely re-sign. Based on what I’m seeing, the LA Rams may only bring back Odell Beckham Jr., IOL Coleman Shelton, ILB Travin Howard, QB John Wolford, PK Matt Gay, and perhaps OLB Von Miller (if both sides agree). That’s somewhat on par with the Rams signings from previous seasons.
Game changer at an affordable price
Of course, if the Rams front office discovers an opportunity to make inroads to seriously improving the roster by signing another game-changer, the Rams will be all for it. Unlike the signing of WR Odell Beckham Jr., any free agents cut due to cap casualties are already attracting top dollar by teams who have ample cash to spend. For the Rams, finding the cash to sign a game-changer to the roster in free agency is labor-intensive that it will likely not take place.
The LA Rams may surprise us all this off-season. But if the team can re-sign Odell Beckham Jr., Von Miller, Coleman Shelton, Travin Howard, John Wolford, and Matt Gay, it will be a very satisfying off-season. While that may not seem like a lot of activity, the players contained in the list all have a significant role to play for the team during the 2022 NFL season.
We learned that the Rams front office does not have to swing for the fences to win a Super Bowl. Now, we must learn that the Rams front office does not have to swing for the fences to defend their NFL Championship Title.
