OL reinforcements

The San Francisco 49ers are a team close to competing in the NFC West. While they aren’t going to pose a significant challenge for the LA Rams, building for the future is key if they are ever going to win the division.

The Niners appear set at the quarterback position as Jimmy Garoppolo remains the answer in San Francisco. That said, offensive line help is one of those areas not necessarily glamorous, but a ‘must-have’ for any team looking to improve.

Warren McClendon is the offensive lineman who General Manager John Lynch can build around to protect their quarterback. McClendon, who was a four-star prospect in high school, is soon to be a former member of the Georgia Bulldogs.

A former Bulldog will protect QB

The O-lineman was a fixture for Georgia football, being part of 82 percent of the offensive snaps his senior season. In the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl victory over Cincinnati, McClendon started and played the entire game. During the 2021 season, Warren has started at RT in each of 14 games.

He is an ideal size at  6-foot-4 inches tall and weighs in at 300-pounds, meaning he will be a mountain of a man protecting whoever lines up under center.

Warren is the nephew of Willie McClendon. Willie is a former NFL running back who played in the National Football League from 1979 to 1982. He was a member of the Chicago Bears.
