The LA Rams headlines this week have been about just about anything that does not have to do with their incoming opponent, the visiting Carolina Panthers. The Rams, now 2-3, are in desperate need of a win, any win. And on paper, the Panthers seem to be ripe for the taking. The team fired their head coach Matt Rhule, along with a number of other coaches, and have hung a fire sale sign up on key players on their roster.

We identified six key Panthers who would seem to be solid fits in areas of need for the LA Rams roster right now, but whether or not the Rams have any interest in those players has yet to be determined.

Ironically, the LA Rams have been linked to Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey, and right now those Rams rumors are heating up. Such is the week leading up to this game, where the top news stories are more about how the Rams can benefit from trading with the Panthers, rather than the old-fashioned way of simply beating them to even out the record.

LA Rams Injury Report vs Panthers Week 6

  • TE Tyler Higbee (Ankle) – Questionable
  • DE Aaron Donald (Foot) – Questionable
  • DB Cobie Durant (Hamstring) – Questionable

Panthers

Despite their 1-4 start to the 2022 NFL season, I’m not convinced that the Carolina Panthers are an easy win for the LA Rams. Two losses have been by a margin of three points or less. Two other losses, to the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers, have been by 10 points or better.

The Rams love to pass but the team has been overusing both WR Cooper Kupp and TE Tyler Higbee. If you notice, both players, as well as DL Aaron Donald, are dinged up for this one. What a great day for the Rams to discover a running game, as well as how to find Allen Robinson downfield via the passing game.  But don’t hold your breath.

Dreams can be fun. But not when you dream about events that will likely never happen for the LA Rams.

Recommended Bets:

I normally do not jump on the LA Rams as huge home favorites, and this one is screaming stay away. The Rams have not shown anything this week but a frustrated coach, a starting running back on the outs, and a basketful of questions whose answers seem to only come in the form of rhetoric, and not practical solutions that show up on the football field

I feel as though I may be shirking my duties in this one, but nothing feels like a solid wager. But if you must make a bet, here are my very tepid takes:

Take the Panthers with the points (+5.5, -110) to cover
Take the Rams on the Money Line (-500) to win
Take the over at 41.0 (-110) in this one
National broadcast: FOX Sports

Whether or not you place a bet, you will want to take note of any signs of improvement from the LA Rams, as well as any Carolina Panthers players who could help turn the Rams’ season around.
