It’s become no surprise to find the LA Rams as underdogs whenever the team faces their NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. Regardless of the success of either team, the Rams have found ways to lose to the 49ers, sometimes in ways that boggle the imagination. So when the oddsmakers set the odds for the LA Rams to host the 49ers after their bye, finding the Rams as +2.5-point underdogs were no shock to the system.

But what has happened this week is a bit intriguing. The LA Rams, losers of seven consecutive regular-season games to the 49ers, found that their odds were improving. That was despite the fact that the 49ers had added a huge offensive weapon, RB Christian McCaffrey, to their roster. Ironically, it was the Rams who were also bidding quite earnestly for McCaffrey. Now, they must face him in two consecutive games.

Even with all of that, the Rams’ odds have improved so much that the game has become a pick’em contest. In short, the odds are even, which means that you simply get to choose which team you believe will win the contest.

Of course, we used WynnBET to find the latest odds and spread for this one, and Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change. But it’s quite intriguing to find that the LA Rams, a team that 49ers fans have trolled all weak, find their chances have improved in this one.

While I’d like to think it’s the return of so many Rams players, the key may be the absence of a key 49ers player, Deebo Samuel.

Well, whatever it takes, right? The Rams have been awfully passive in the recent games with the 49ers. But this week, some things are changing. Veteran offensive lineman Oday Aboushi, who is making his first NFL start, said it best:

Sometimes I wish more LA Rams would follow the lead of DL Aaron Donald and feel the rage of the constant disrespect shown to the team by the 49ers players and fans. The 49ers showed no mercy as they mercilessly picked apart the Rams injured offensive line with A-Gap blitzes and defensive line stunts to crush the Rams’ offense.

The Rams need to go for the jugular in return.

The winner of this one is in a solid position to challenge for, and perhaps ultimately claim the NFC West Division Title. The loser must begin that sleepless journey through the remainder of the season hoping for other teams to help them end up in the NFL Playoffs.

These are the LA Rams, a team that turned a three-game losing streak around to win nine of their last ten games, including four consecutive playoff games. It’s never easy, but the Rams showed amazing resiliency last season. Let’s hope the team shows similar traits today.

Or the fate of the Rams season will not solely rest in their hands.
