The first six weeks of the season couldn't have gone much worse for the Los Angeles Rams. At 2-4, they face an uphill climb if they want to save their chances of making the postseason. With multiple long-term injuries to key players, that climb is getting steeper by the day.
Davante Adams' injury may be the most gut-wrenching of the bunch. He is set to miss 6-10 weeks with a ruptured hamstring, leaving the Rams alarmingly thin at wide receiver.
General manager Les Snead may be ready to pack it in and hope for a bounce-back season in 2027. But if he still believes that the Rams can be competitive this year, he should look into these three receiver additions.
Rams should check in on these 3 WRs after Davante Adams injury
Brian Thomas Jr.
If Snead wants an "X" receiver to directly replace Adams, Brian Thomas Jr. is the best option available. His role with the Jacksonville Jaguars has been reduced to that of a vertical threat, but as he showed in his rookie season, he can do more than he currently is.
Thomas could be looking for a change of scenery after a downturn in targets since mid-2025. Using the Houston Texans' Marvin Harrison Jr. trade as a measuring stick, Thomas would likely cost a second-round pick. That may be too rich for a Rams team already missing its 2027 first-rounder.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is still sitting in free agency, and he seems more like a mystery box than any of the Rams' other options. He could still resemble the explosive deep threat of the early 2020s, or he could be a shell of his former self.
Signing Hill would certainly be a risk for the Rams, but it could be a risk worth taking at their current level of desperation. Consider this a pull of the slot machine.
Jerry Jeudy
Consider Jerry Jeudy a middle ground between Thomas Jr. and Hill. Trading for the Cleveland Browns wideout would likely only cost a Day 3 draft pick, but he doesn't have the high ceiling of the other options.
Jeudy has only caught 12 passes this season, but he was a 1,200-yard receiver as recently as 2024. He could immediately become Matthew Stafford's second option in the passing game without costing significant draft capital. If the Rams want to find an Adams replacement without breaking the bank, this is the most obvious choice.
