If you wanted to know if the 7-2 Los Angeles Rams could avenge their Week 5 loss to the 6-4 San Francisco 49ers, you now know the answer. Unlike the earlier 26 to 23 loss, Los Angeles' offense made the 26 points scored against the defense in this contest come up well short.

This is an offense that has scored 111 points over the last three games. Meanwhile, the defense that had allowed just 20 points since facing the 49ers allowed 26 points in this game. But the difference was... well, let's not give away any spoilers too soon. What I can say is that the team did not shoot itself in the foot. This was a team that made the plays that it needed to make.

There were no blocked kicks. To be fair, there were no field goal attempts. But for a Los Angeles offense that scored touchdowns on five of six Red Zone opportunities, the lack of field goals was as much of an embellishment as it was a detractor. New kicker Harrison Mevis booted all six extra point attempts. This was a solid win. This was a promising win. Now, who helped to make it so?

4 winners and 2 losers in Rams sensational victory in Week 10 over 49ers

1. Loser - Kicker Joshua Karty

I'm not sure if Joshua Karty's NFL career is over (it probably isn't), but his chapter in Horns may be coming to a close. Forget the double-barreled kicking shotgun option, the team's decision to go with Harrison Mevis in a crucial Week 10 game against the 49ers is all you needed to know.

2. Loser - Running back Jarquez Hunter

The offense has gone a different direction, and somehow, rookie rusher Jarquez Hunter is the odd man out. The team signed running back Ronnie Rivers from the practice squad, but made Hunter a healthy scratch once more. This was Week 10. He won't touch the football unless the team has a meaningless Week 18 game.

1. Winner - Wide receiver Puka Nacua

It's so odd to see Puka Nacua appear this early in the Winner's section, but there were simply too many heroes in this game to list him later. The Brigham Young University wunderkind hauled in five of six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. That's a great day, but pretty much just another day at the office for the team's star offensive weapon.

2. Winner - Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr.

Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. did not register a single tackle. But when you are sticky in pass coverage, no tackles are needed. He broke up two passes and intercepted one. 49ers quarterback Mac Jones only missed six passes the entire game. Forbes made those misses count.

3. Winner - Wide receiver Davante Adams

For the first half of the NFL season, Davante Adams was struggling to catch 50 percent of his passes. Now that's not a problem. Against the 49ers, he hauled in six of eight passes for 77 yards with a touchdown. Since the Week 6 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, he has hauled in 16-of-23 passes for 172 yards and six touchdowns. Who has powered this offense to 111 points in the past three games? Adams has 36 of those points, single-handedly.

4. Winner - Quarterback Matthew Stafford

Talk about saving the best for last. 37-year-old Matthew Stafford has been playing the best football of his long NFL career. How could he possibly outduel 49ers quarterback Mac Jones, who was 33 of 39 for 319 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception? By tossing 24 of 36 passes for 280 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.

He completed passes to eight different receivers and to all four tight ends on the roster. In fact, to tight ends alone, he completed 10 of 14 for 114 yards and two touchdowns. To out-tight-end the 49ers is saying something.

Is LA the hottest NFL team right now? Perhaps. But the same argument can be said of the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks, the next opponent on the schedule. Stay tuned, as Los Angeles and the NFC West Division are about to determine the fate of the upcoming NFL playoffs.

As always, thanks for reading.
