He's been release. Now, which team can lure him to sign with them:?

The Los Angeles Rams were unable to persuade any NFL team to make a respectable offer for veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp. After all the time leading to this point, no team was willing to part ways with a Day 3 draft pick to ensure landing a talented and still productive veteran wide receiver. So be it. Now, it's a candy scramble. And Cooper Kupp himself has all of the control. Now, he decides where he will play next. For those NFL teams that have bona fide interest in signing Kupp to a new contract, good luck.

You are going to need it

It was a difficult decision. But once the Rams brass make a tough call, they rarely rethink it. And with the advance warning, everyone was prepared for that moment to come. And it just did:

So now it's up to NFL general managers. After all, the Rams wide receiver is no longer bound to an NFL contact for $20 million. Now, he has the opportunity to set his sights for a new team. Where might he land? NFL Insider Dan Orlovsky who has a pretty solid track record of being plugged into the Rams organization is swift to encourage five teams to pick up the phone, now:

But here at Ramblin Fan, we have our own ideas. Where might Cooper Kupp land? Here are our 5 top team destinations. They are:

(6) - Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are a team to keep an eye on. With the hiring of HC Pete Carroll, their timeline to win now is far more accelerated than other NFL teams. The Raiders have new QB Geno Smith, an incredible young tight end in Brock Bowers. It pains me to say it, but adding Cooper Kupp to the mix cements the Raiders as not only a team on the rise, but a team that could challenge for the AFC West. Are the Raiders interested in Kupp?

Stay tuned to this team. I think they will be aggressive in their pursuit. And signing with the Raiders softens the blow of moving very far.

(5) - Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears need help on offense. And the truth is that veteran wide receiver is the ideal player to add to that offensive mix. Kupp instantly becomes a trusted target in the Bears offense. But he also become a part-time coach and part-time mentor to a host of young players who need the compass points of Kupp's presence to help develop so many talented young men.

(4) - Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers need to get some offensive weapons, and the team has been adding some. But in Cooper Kupp, the Steelers get more than a 'throw to me' guy. They get a receiver who does everything asked of him to meticulous perfection. Who better to add to a run-oriented offense than a wide receiver who can block like a tight end, run crisp routes to perfection, and puts up significant yards after the catch.

And who better to help lure QB Aaron Rodgers to the team?

(3) - Jacksonville Jaguars

While the cross-town Los Angeles Chargers make complete sense, I see the team that needs Cooper Kupp's total package as the Jacksonville Jaguars. When Brad Holmes took over as the Detroit Lions GM, he traded Matthew Stafford for out-of-favor QB Jared Goff. He knew the quality of Goff, and wanted to build his new team around him.

The Jaguars new GM James Gladstone and HC Liam Coen are all too familiar with Cooper Kupp. And Kupp's work-ethic, locker room leadership, ability to connect with young teammates, and meticulous preparation are all superbly valuable ingredients to changing the culture of the team, and we haven't even gotten to the on-field production

(2) - Detroit Lions

I don't think it's going out on a limb to link Cooper Kupp to his former quarterback Jared Goff. While the Detroit Lions have been very successful, Lions GM Brad Holmes has to be interested in adding Kupp to the Lions' arsenal of offensive weapons. Kupp had fantastic games against the Philadelphia Eagles twice last season. Since the Lions have to expect to face the Eagles if they are to have hopes of competing in Super Bowl LX, Kupp would be a great addition.

(1) - Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been linked to Rams WR Cooper Kupp all along. Until now, the reason that the Cowboys did not make an offer was reportedly their insistence that the asking price for Kupp was too high. Well, now it's zero. So if the Cowboys are planning to make a move, the moment is now.

If the Cowboys missed how effective Kupp played against the Philadelphia Eagles in two games in 2024, that's on them. The Cowboys face the Eagles twice a season. It behooves them to be one of the team's to be actively pursuing Kupp.

Which team do you see as having the inside track? Some team is going to get a great player. Now, it's up to Cooper Kupp which team that might be.

As always, thanks for reading.
