(3) - The Rams pass rush will record 3.0+ quarterback sacks
The LA Rams pass rush has been a bit subdued of late. In the past three games, the Rams pass rush has recorded just three quarterback sacks. Perhaps even more alarming, the Rams did not record a single quarterback sack in either Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints or in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills. And veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is difficult to sack because he has a quick release.
But Rodgers is not protected by a stellar offensive line this season. He has been sacked at least once in every game, and been sacked three or more times in six games this season.
The Rams have never stopped putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, whether or not they have been able to finish off the play with a sack. But the team needs to keep veteran QB Aaron Rodgers on his heels in Week 16. The only way to do that is to stunt, blitz, and mount an unblockable pass rush to keep Rodgers' timing off. I like the resourcefulness of DC Chris Shula in this one.
(2) - Rams RB Kyren Williams will rush for 75.0+ yards and 1+ touchdowns
The LA Rams have discovered the importance of committing to rushing the football, and I do not expect the team to abandon that revelation on the road when facing bitterly cold temperatures and gusty winds. After all, running back Kyren Williams has had another outstanding season, rushing for 1,121 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 14 games. With three games remaining, if he simply plays to his season average, he will run for 80+ yards and a touchdown in Week 16.
Williams is not just a one-hit wonder. Believe it or not, RB Kyren Williams has put up 2,404 rushing yards with the team, good enough to land him as the 17th-ranked running back for the team. That's right, he is among the Top-20 All-Time Los Angeles Rams Career Rushing Leaders. And if he sticks at or better than his per-game average over the last three games of the season, he will land among the Top-10 single-season Rams rushers of all time.
With frigid temperatures and the need to win a road game, the Rams need to commit to the running game once more. Week 16 is a perfect scenario for the Rams ground attack to assert itself to secure a win. Come to think of it, perhaps 75+ rushing yards and a rushing touchdown for RB Kyren Williams is not so bold after all.
