The Los Angeles Rams not only had to watch one of their hated rivals while the Seattle Seahawks took home a Super Bowl victory for the second time in their franchise history, but they did so while seeing one of their best players ever, wide receiver Cooper Kupp, slip another ring on his finger.

With the Rams deciding they had enough of Kupp following the 2024 season, watching him sign a multi-year contract with Seattle. Many viewed this as John Schneider overpaying for damaged goods. Those doubters were proven wrong after Kupp established himself as an effective secondary wide receiver on a Super Bowl winner.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, who also confirmed via this victory that his squad will be the biggest obstacle to a Super Bowl in the Sean McVay era, said that such a victory will redefine Kupp's legacy, as this could be the game that puts him in the Hall of Fame.

Kupp was considered a fringe case before this game, and one of the most defining moments of his professional career may have come with a team that he swore to hate as a member of the Rams. He clearly came out as the winner in this divorce.

Rams fans won't like Cooper Kupp cementing Hall of Fame status with Seahawks

Kupp has 8,369 yards and 59 touchdowns to his name in the NFL. The former puts him right outside the Top 100 in NFL history and in the same tier as Hall of Famers Tommy McDonald and Paul Warfield. His touchdown numbers are very close to those of Canton inductees Shannon Sharpe and John Stallworth.

While injuries have sapped his effectiveness, Kupp continues to show that he can be an important part of championship teams. His 2021 season may be the best by any receiver in NFL history, and his ability to up his game in the postseason will weigh heavily in the minds of voters.

This had to be a nice dose of sweet revenge for Kupp, as the Rams reportedly told the Eastern Washington product that he would be better off retiring before calling other teams and begging them to give him a smaller contract offer. Kupp ended up getting the last laugh.

Kupp will always be remembered as a Ram first and foremost, but this Super Bowl ensures that an entire second chapter of his legacy as a Seahawk will be etched in stone alongside his LA stints. Les Snead and Sean McVay will have to live with that.
