The 7-2 Los Angeles Rams know that their Week 11 clash with the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks will not be an easy one. To that point, the Rams have exhausted their three-time-out allotment in the first quarter. And the team has already turned the football over on downs in the red zone. But nobody expected this to go easy.
That's why the team was determined to ensure veteran wide receiver Davante Adams was able to play in this one. Adams is the top scorer in LA's offense, and he wasted no time showing up in a big way in Week 11. Curiously, he saved his 1,000th career for a pivotal moment in this one.
Davante Adams has reached the 1,000 career catches in today's game, becoming 1-of-17 receivers in NFL history to accomplish the feat and the third-fastest reach the mark. He became the fifth WR ever with at least 1,000 receptions in his first 12 career seasons, joining HOFers… pic.twitter.com/KnD1z1jCCr

That reception was Adams' landmark 1000th reception, and became Adams' 10th touchdown reception from quarterback Matthew Stafford this season. One reception for one yard, but it is another six points on the scoreboard. And just like that, Los Angeles takes an impressive lead.

Davante Adams is a difference maker in the offense this season
For an offense that had struggled in the red zone and even at scoring points last season, Adams is a godsend. He has been incredibly effective when this offense gets near the end zone. This offense has been effective at moving the chains since hiring Sean McVay as the head coach in 2017.
Adams brings a new skillset to an offense that has relied heavily on play-action and pre-snap motion to create separation. But the wily veteran wide receiver has an arsenal of moves, jukes, and shimmies that give him separation right out of the box. With that ability, the offense can run 13 personnel, flooding the football field with three tight ends, and not sacrifice the ability to score.
In Week 11, everyone on the football field is bringing their A game. Davante Adams' ceiling is simply higher than the other players out there when the end zone nears. Still, the game is too charged with electricity and energy to give anyone a warm and fuzzy feeling in this one.
How will this one end? It's anybody's game. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has made the only mistake in the game, tossing an interception that led to LA's first touchdown. But one mistake will not decide this one. The game is a defensive masterpiece with flashes of offensive brilliance by both teams.
Davante Adams has 1000 receptions and his 10th touchdown. But he'll need to contribute a great deal more for Los Angeles to emerge with a win in this one. So far, he has one catch for one yard for one touchdown.
As always, thanks for reading.
