When it comes to veteran wide receiver Davante Adams, the 7-2 Los Angeles Rams know to look his way in the red zone. After all, the guy is the leading scorer in this offense, by a significant margin. But he is also a guy who shows up on game day.
Or, will he?
The uncertainty arose from the fact that Adams was injured during the Week 11 demolition of the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 by a score of 42-26. As a result of that injury, Adams appeared on the injury report this week. With the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks coming to town, the injury could not have happened at a worse time.
And yet, a ray of hope shines through the fog and cloudy outlook:
#Rams WR Davante Adams, who is questionable with an oblique injury from running into a cameraman on the sidelines last week, is expected to play Sunday, coach Sean McVay told reporters.

Los Angeles needs Adams in this one. The Seahawks match up well with the Horns on paper, not just with identical records, but in statistical categories as well. So the absence of a top scorer would create a huge disadvantage for the home team.
Wide receiver Davante Adams just got hot in this offense
While much of the season has found veteran Davante Adams struggling to crack the pedestrian 50 percent catch mark, recent games have marked a significant uptick in his chemistry with quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Since the Week 8 BYE, the pair have connected on 11 of 15 passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in two games. That works out to nearly a 75 percent catch rate.
There's nothing wrong with that.
That's all great optics, but it looks even better when you consider that much of the success has come while the offense had pivoted to 13 personnel packages as a mainstay offensive formation. In theory, that should have focused more secondary coverage on Adams, limiting his effectiveness.
Instead, the opposite effect transpired.
I'm not casting shade or disrespect at the Seahawks secondary. But let's reboot a narrative that suggests that their defensive backs dictate the outcome of games exclusively. This offense has put up some serious points recently, and against some solid defenses.
Davante Adams is finally coming into stride in the offense. Whenever that happens, even the most gifted cornerbacks in the NFL seem to struggle.
It appears very much as though all signs point to Davante Adams playing in Week 11. If history is any indication, he will have a sensational game this week.
As alays, thanks for reading.
