Davante Adams gets a favor from Puka Nacua immediately after joining Rams

How did this unfold? We'd love to know.

Before the start of NFL free agency, the LA Rams were able to get a couple of enormous to-do's out of the way.

Of course, the big one came when quarterback Matthew Stafford and the team were able to come together on a new deal, keeping him in Los Angeles. But then, the Rams made a blockbuster signing at the wide receiver position.

Los Angeles went out and inked former New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams to a 2-year contract, giving Stafford another top-tier weapon next to Puka Nacua.

As for Cooper Kupp, well, we knew what that move meant.

Back to Adams and Nacua, though, as the Rams will have a lethal one-two punch featuring a young, ascending player and another one who has been doing it for a very long time. Adams is the perfect compliment to Nacua and still someone who can act as an alpha in the room, when need be.

Speaking of being an alpha wideout, does Adams' arrival mean he will get to take Nacua's jersey number 17?

Funny enough, Nacua spoke out about the topic on a recent podcast episode and, actually, admitted that he would not give up the number even for a price of $2 million.

Puka Nacua had a change of heart and ended up giving his jersey number to Davante Adams

Then, it was reported Nacua had indeed changed his number back to no. 12, which he wore in college at BYU.

Did he have a change of heart? Did Adams offer him more money to take the number back?

We'll probably find out, eventually, but the fact of the matter is, Nacua did the elder veteran a solid by giving up his jersey number.

Of course, that means all the Rams fans who purchased his no. 17 product are now out-of-date.

Jersey numbers aside, Nacua and Adams should make a magnificent duo for the Rams in 2025. The Adams signing, along with keeping Stafford, proves this team is still all-in on winning a Super Bowl. Whether or not they're wearing no. 12, no. 17 or any other digits is besides the point.

Adams wants a Super Bowl, and the Rams intend to give that to him.
